Grape varieties: Verdicchio
An elegant and mineral white wine, Campo delle Oche is an expressive Verdicchio, made intense and complex by long aging on the lees in cement tanks. Almond, chamomile, saffron and aromatic herbs are just some of its pleasant and delicate aromas. Wine made as it once was with artisanal methods.
Campo delle Oche of Fattoria San Lorenzo is a safe and authentic choice if you want a very valuable white wine, among the best of this appellation. A safe haven for those who want joy, like that of its winemaker Natalino Crognaletti. This wine was born as a "reserve wine", and then deliberately declassified by the winery to "superior".
This white always comes from the Le Oche vineyard in Montecarotto. The grapes are selected in a targeted manner, one or two per plant maximum, and are destined for the subsequent vinification phase. The vineyard has a South-West exposure and the soil is sandy with clay at an altitude of 380 meters. Biodynamic and organic cultivation is not a choice based on trends, it is simply the right thing to do for the environment and the vine itself. Nature and time. Respect for the natural rhythms in the vineyard and minimal intervention in the cellar. Making wine as it once was. Fermentation takes place only through the use of indigenous yeasts in cement tanks with a maceration on the skins for 20 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place. The refinement period is divided into three stages: Two months in concrete, 36 months in steel on the lees, then six months in the bottle.
Verdicchio Campo delle Oche has a deep straw yellow color with golden reflections. On the nose there are notes of spices, herbs and hay. Then notes of ripe fruit, acacia, almond, chamomile and hints of honey and saffron come to the fore. The alcohol content on the palate is important to support a warm, marine and sapid, opulent taste, with a clearly perceptible fruit and great potential, of considerable persistence and with spicy and almond aftertaste.
