Eugenio Rosi
Eugenio Rosi is a Trentino vigneron, who produces wines with artisan care and passion. The love for his land was transmitted to him by his father, who took him to the countryside, still a child, and made him appreciate the simple life in contact with nature. An experience that marked Eugenio's destiny. Since he was a boy his best memories were linked to the days spent in the fields and it is no coincidence that he then chose that path as a professional and life path. In 1997 Eugenio Rosi worked as an oenologist at the Sociale della Vallagarina winery, but he was already beginning to think about a different future, one that could give greater satisfaction. Thus was born the need to set up on their own, to create wines that were the result of a direct and authentic relationship with its territory.
Eugenio Rosi's winery is located in Vallagarina, the stretch of the Adige river which descends towards the plain from the south of Trento. It is a valley of ancient glacial origin, characterized by the presence of limestone rocks, moraine and river deposits, which make the soils particularly suitable for viticulture. The mild climate is already affected by the influence of Lake Garda and its breezes, in particular the Ora, which climbs up the valley, always keeping the grapes dry and healthy. It is in this wonderful hilly area that Eugenio Rosi has decided to give life to his project, capable of expressing his idea of wine.
His philosophy as an artisan winemaker led him to approach the land with love. He began the business by cultivating the family's vineyards and renting non-vineyard plots of land, in which he saw potential. As a good farmer, he has always considered the vineyard the fulcrum around which all the work revolves. The vines are cultivated looking for the natural productive balance, in order to have quality grapes. Wine is seen as a direct and natural consequence of the good work done in the countryside, trying to intervene as little as possible in the cellar. Simplicity, balance and harmony are the inspiring principles of his work and the characteristics he tries to transfer to wines. Its labels express in a very direct way the aromas of the vines and the personality of this area of Trentino. Alongside the vines that have always been grown in the region, such as Marzemino and Nosiola, the estate is home to the classic and noble French grapes: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
