Alberto Oggero
“It’s better to stay at home and have a party than work a damp soil.”
Alberto´s grandfather always told him that he was hasty.
When Alberto started to make wine, he understood that he was no longer in control of time. Planting new vines means being able to sell their fruit seven years later; that’s nature’s rhythm, and you have to make peace with it if you want to work with it.
Alberto soon understood that making wine would be his life’s work, and started to build his own vineyard.
His priority has always been making wine in the most territorial way possibile, recovering old vines and turning the grapes into wine in the cellar that belonged to his grandfather Sandro.
They’re all ready to put their hands in the earth and the must, but also to drink a glass of wine together at the end of the day, in every season.

TERRITORY
“The earth says: ask of me and I shall grant it“
The hills of Roero contain soil from ancient floodplains, limestone and marine sands from the Pliocene era (dating back to 5 million years). This particular composition makes for loose, soft soil which is poor in nutrients but well oxygenated, hosting a rich biodiversity of microbial life.
These morganisms, together with the fossil components of their terroir, make for high quality grapes and elegant, mineral wines.
Another characteristic of sandy soil is poor water retention. This pushes the vines to grow deep roots in search of moisture, resulting in healthier, more resilient vines, and a wider variety of elements such as calcium, phosphorus and potassium, which are fundamental for the aromatic development in the grapes.Filters
