Doing biodynamic viticulture also means discovering traditions, abandoned to make
room for agriculture uprooted from the places. Alicante Nero represents our way of being
winemakers. An indigenous variety from the Alta Maremma, which had been uprooted to make room for other grapes with richer colors and more imposing bodies. We brought it back to its land in 2003, strongly believing that it could be the truest and most authentic vine to express the Mediterranean Maremma. We were right: today it is one of our most precious gems.
In the vineyards of "La Pieve" it has found its ideal habitat: the clayey soils mixed with
pebbles and puddings give it delicacy, lightness and a harmonious character.
