There's more to Tuscany than red wine. There's more to San Gimignano than Vernaccia. Montenidoli is a leading wine representative in the rolling hills of Tuscany, on the doorsteps to "Medieval Manhattan". Montenidoli has its own very special hill, Montenidoli, named after a 200ha forest, which has been respectfully preserved to allow flora and fauna to thrive. Daytime walks in the Montenidoli woods remind me of the rainforest, with its cacophony of bird song.

Montenidoli grants us two unique terroir profiles, with the upper half of the hill a Triassic iron-rich clay soil, and the lower half a marine sedimentary soil with a large presence of sea fossils.

The lower half of Montenidoli is a perfect depository for white grape varieties such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Trebbiano and Malvasia. It lends elegance and minerality to these structured whites.

Vinbrusco [vin brusco, EN brusque wine, i.e. young, rustic wine] is the classic Tuscan blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia. It sees no wood, and with the mineral soil and low-intervention philosophy becomes a small beauty. Medium-full body, easy to understand, very drinkable, and interesting!
