Arneis
The vintage was marked by generous spring rainfall, generally warm summer temperatures, and further rain before harvest, resulting in grapes of good ripeness and concentration, particularly in the sandy sites. Harvest took place from late August to
mid-September, with the different lots kept separate according to vineyard origin.
Fruit from the cooler sections of the vineyards - with higher marl content and less sun
exposure - was whole-cluster pressed at moderate yields. The must was only fermented
in stainless steel and kept on its lees until spring.
Grapes from the sandier, better-exposed vineyards (around 20% of the total surface
dedicated to Arneis) were destemmed and fermented on the skins in concrete. The first
week was managed with daily pump-overs, followed by submerged cap, for a total of one
month of maceration. The wine was aged in old oak casks, then
blended with the remaining portion in April. The 2025 vintage offers a rich and complex
nose and a dense, structured palate, with a rhythm shaped by saline notes, gentle
tannins, and a subtle bitter finish. As we like to say, Valfaccenda Bianco is our
most Mediterranean wine. Roero Bianco from Arneis: fine and floral in its
youth, evolving into a wine of detail, intensity, and longevity over time.
