Selvarella 2017

From a vineyard planted in 2001 in the less steep part of Montalcino, a 100% Sangiovese red, direct, sanguine and earthy. Spontaneously fermented in wood, it ages in steel before bottling. Beautiful complexity and character. To wait while letting it oxygenate, a Sangiovese even better than some Rosso di Montalcino.

Recently established, the DOC Orcia is located between two giants of Tuscany, such as Chianti and Brunello, but despite this it has been able to demonstrate that it knows how to juggle, holding up the comparison wonderfully. In fact, belonging to this denomination, there are very interesting wines, such as the Orcia Rosso DOC “Selvarella”, from the Santa Maria di Marino Colleoni winery. Intense and deep, it is an intriguing wine, on which to bet for the future: soon it will be heard very well.

Tasting notes: Ruby in color with coppery reflections, the nose is sumptuous and enveloping, with hints of currant and ripe red fruit on an earthy background. in the mouth it is powerful, structured, balanced and elegant between minerality, tannins, acidity and fruit.

Pairings: To combine with the second courses of the land cuisine, it is perfect with grilled meat.
