Cascina Roccalini is a winery in the Barbaresco area with a rather recent history, founded by Paolo Veglio. Paolo is a young winemaker and started working in the vineyard at the age of 14, when the Veglio family gave the grapes from their vineyard - the Roccalini cru - to Bruno Giacosa. Paolo Veglio decided to build his own winery in 2003, starting his first vinification in 2004. The total hectares of property are 4.5, planted with dolcetto, barbera and nebbiolo. The approach of the winemaker is that of minimal human intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar and from this philosophy his four labels are born: Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Barbaresco Superiore and Barbaresco Roccalini, the flagship wine, where Paolo is managed to express himself fully.
